Recently, the Division of Student Affairs awarded the Area 1 Facilities Team the “Friends of Student Affairs Award” for their dedication to providing excellent customer service and facility support for Student Affairs.
Comprised of many student services and programs, the Division of Student Affairs often has unique and demanding facility needs, and the Area 1 Facilities Team consistently provides timely and value-added response around the clock.
The team, led by Garry Lockerman, received the award not just for their ability to respond efficiently when duty calls, but for their desire to work with Student Affairs as a true business partner. Area 1 collaborates with departments in pre-construction meetings and offers viable solutions to difficult tasks. In addition, the team prides itself for working with staff to identify areas of concern and assist with the oversight of vendors and contractors.
“Garry and his team are forward thinking and proactive when it comes to the needs of the Campus Recreation Center. They understand our needs as well as the needs of our members and visitors and work diligently behind the scenes as a member of our team to accomplish what many could not,” states Dave Williams, Associate Director of Aquatics and Member Services for Campus Recreation.
The Area 1 Facilities Team’ professionalism and commitment to institutional effectiveness will help the Division of Student Affairs and its departments meet the facility needs of its audiences well into the future.
