Construction fencing will go up on 9/23 to begin the initial phase of the Eco-Commons plan.
The Eco-Commons concept plan embeds a rich landscape experience into Georgia Tech’s existing campus fabric. The proposed design aims to meet the ambitious goals of the Georgia Tech campus Landscape Master Plan, which include reducing campus stormwater by 50%, achieving 75% tree canopy coverage, increasing woodland acreage by 40%, and expanding tree biomass carbon storage capacity by 20%. The Eco-Commons plan also embraces a sustainability strategy that enhances biodiversity and emphasizes the pedestrian experience, while providing universal access to both existing and proposed buildings around the project site.
